I have been obsessed with traveling for as long as I can remember, and I love to decorate my house with pieces from my adventures.

Travel Memento Boxes

This is one of the easiest ways to organize ticket stubs, picture, or anything else you picked up on your trips!

Find an old box (in the tutorial, a DVD box is used), cover with a map, and print the name on the outside. It makes an adorable addition to a bookshelf or table!

Vacation Memory Photo Mapmmm

This project would make the perfect focal piece in a room!

It is another way to display your travel photographs so you and your guests know exactly where they were taken.

I love that the pictures connect to the pinpoints on the map!

Chalkboard DIYdeas

CHALKBOARD DIY!

Yes, I am guilty of being OBSESSED with the trend of making everything into a chalkboard.

I don’t know what it is about the idea of having streak filled black decor and having to endure the sound of writing with chalk, but I am in love with it all.

Here are some of my favorite DIY chalkboard ideas that I have been dying to try!

DIY Chalkboard Wineglass

wineHow many of you have been at a girls night and had a swig of the wrong wine?

This is the most adorable solution to all of your problems and it is extremely easy.

You can use wineglasses you already own, get some chalkboard paint and chalk marker and your done!

DIY Monogram Chalk “Slate”

chalkboard-letters-rubberbandsI know that I can’t be the only one who is obsessed with monograms.

This is perfect to add a little something to a room or to give as a gift.

You can get wooden letters at any craft store around for less than $10. (at Hobby Lobby use the app to get a 40% off coupon on one item each visit)

DIY: Chalkboard Upgrade

drawerThese drawers are the easiest to grab if you need a quick storage solution, and they are inexpensive. The downside is that they look like they are inexpensive.

This tutorial gives an easy upgrade to these clear plastic drawers.

These drawers are perfect for everything from clothes to craft supplies (it’s what I keep all of my supplies in), and with this idea, you don’t have to hide them in your closet anymore.

Edible Chalkboard Cookies 20918070466_e25d4323a5_o

I love these cookies!

They are perfect for kids to decorate without having the mess of using tubes of icing.

You can make a big batch for a birthday party and let them be as creative as they want to be. (and not have to worry about them eating the chalk!)

DIY Wood Slice Chalkboard

DIY-Wood-Slice-Chalkboard-iowagirleats-01_miniAnd last but not least, my favorite chalkboard idea on the list!

These wood slices and inexpensive additions to your home decor for any season or event. I actually used this idea to make my brother’s Christmas gift (pictured below).

I love this tutorial because it also explains how to get the perfect chalkboard lettering.
